January 15, 2009 - A Tucker Pole and Spot Free Water Rinse

It's a cold day here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, today with -22 degree temperatures and -52 wind chill.

But, to no surprise a nursing home in California is purchasing a Tucker® Pole Window Washer, model 45C, with mixed bed DI tank are headed out today. We want to thank our distributor and their customer for ordering.

Back in the 1950s, "spot free" water rinse wasn't cost effective or available for the in-house professional, building service contractor or professional window cleaner who wanted to get the highest possible results.

Many of the tools in the window cleaning trade were not available yet. The extension pole came after the Tucker High Level Window Washer in the late 1950s. Many of the features found with the today's Tucker Pole came later on as well.

The Tucker car-house washer from the mid-1950's was how the Tucker Pole came to be created. Service contractors who were cleaning houses were getting the windows dirty, so we gave the car-house washer an optional window brush. From there, a local university enquired about an application that required equipment to reach and wash windows several stories high. So, we introduced and produced the Tucker High Level Window Washer.

The industry later coined it the Tucker Pole or Tucker Brush for short. In the 1980s, the mix of the Tucker Pole with "spot free" water rinse became available, when Southern California window cleaners, who had a Tucker Pole; who were introduced to DI water, which was being used by those in the manufacturing of personal computers, by a water conditioning company.

Today, there are a variety of models and methods available to use to reach and wash windows and other exterior surfaces. Further, "spot free" water rinse in expanding the quality of the results, by eliminating spots and residue.
