Past IWCA venue impacted by Local Flooding ...

Tucker Manufacturing Co., Inc. has fond memories of two IWCA Conventions and Trade Shows at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. The IWCA held its first Waterfed seminar in 1999 at the Opryland Hotel. We enjoyed the venue and it is simply sad to witness the impact of a flood again.

In 2008, the Cedar Rapids downtown and the surrounding areas were impacted by a flood on the Cedar River that went beyond the 500 year flood stage for areas of our community. In the 65 years of Tucker Manufacture Co., Inc., which has been located closer to the Cedar River in the past, we had never witnessed the impact of such flooding. Thankfully, unlike some of our past locations, we didn't receive water in our building. Our steam heat system was impacted though.

The City of Cedar Rapids is approaching the second anniversary of our great flood of 2008. Here was a picture from the roof of our building during the June 2008 flood in Cedar Rapids. The 2008 flood was the worst in the history of our community. The City of Cedar Rapids and Linn County have been slow to recovery back into our flood impacted community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those in Nashville, Memphis and throughout the river valleys of the Cumberland and other rivers and streams impacted by recently by flooding.
