Our oldest local customer was in for a new Tucker Brush this week

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day holiday weekend.  We enjoyed the three days away from the office.  Time to enjoy with friends and family...

This morning, the Tuesday, after Memorial Day, our oldest local customer came in to order a new 12 AT brush (pictured above).  It's not every day, when you have an opportunity to greet a customer who has been using our equipment for over 50-55 years.  He was thinking it was back in the 1950s.

He needed a new Tucker brush to clean his automobile.  His original brush cracked and he needed to be replaced.

Gene will turn 99 years old this year.  He and his wife have been married 76 years.  He continues to mow his own lawn, but he did give up mowing and fertilizing his neighbors yard a couple of years ago.

He mentioned today that he has bought our equipment for four locations over the years.  Gene is retired from the automotive and recreational vehicle trade.  He was telling about his adult children.  He mentioned some of them are retired now, as well.

We are excited about a possible new prospect from the Country of Botswana this week.  Over the years, we have enjoyed doing business in Nigeria, Egypt and other African nations.  Through FedEx, we ship to over 25 different foreign locations. 

One real strong market presently for the Tucker Pole is the Country Canada.  Whether it be the in-house professional at an educational institution or the contract professional for a window cleaning company, the Tucker Pole is a popular way to reach, wash and clean windows and other exterior surfaces.

Back from Atlanta...

Last week, Tucker Manufacturing Co., Inc. had the pleasure to participate in the 20Th annual IWCA Trade Show and Convention, held in Atlanta, Georgia on February 18-21, 2009. It was a great opportunity to visit with professional window cleaners who make up the organization.

Tucker Manufacturing Co., Inc. is one of the founding members of the association. We have exhibited at each of the 20 trade shows that the IWCA organized.

Today, one of the members of the IWCA, who participated at last week's IWCA Convention forwarded to us a couple of pictures and a short message...

We enjoyed visiting with Tony and his wife, along with the many other professional window cleaners that attended this year's IWCA Trade Show and Convention. Feel free and keep in touch throughout the year.

Further, we had an opportunity to talk to Morley at Waymore Cleaning in Ontario, Canada today. Morley has been a Tucker Pole user for the past ten years. He learned about the Tucker Pole at the Nashville convention of IWCA in 1999. It was back in 1999, where the term "waterfed pole" was coined, when IWCA conducted it's first Tucker Pole, we mean waterfed pole seminar.

Morley reports that first Canadian Conference last weekend in Ontario, Canada "was very good, had about 20 guys" at the event. The organizers of the Canadian Conference are planning to have another event in 2010.

This year's event was at the same time as the IWCA event. But, next year, it sounds like they are planning to host the Canadian Conference in early January (likely a couple of weeks before IWCA) to avoid a schedule conflict. The IWCA 2010 Trade Show and Convention is scheduled for Reno, Nevada on January 27-30, 2010.

Certainly a big celebration in Dubai this week for the new hotel opening there. Our products may not be headed for that particular hotel, but we do enjoy doing business with various distributors, customers and end users in Dubai. We appreciate our recent business heading to Dubai this month.

Whether it is the over 25 nations we ship our products to or our customers here in the United States, we appreciate your business. Like England... we have products headed to our distributor in the UK this month. Like Canada... we enjoy the business we do with a variety of customers, distributors and end users. Finally, with Thanksgiving next week in the USA, we don't want to forget our customers, distributors and end users here.

We are enjoying our November this year and we want to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Happy Thanksgiving. Our offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28, 2008 for the American holiday.
